December 9, 1948 — January 21, 2026

Etters, PA

Ronald E. “Ron” Setinsek, Sr., 77, of Etters, PA, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with family by his side. Born on December 9, 1948, in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Dolly (Moreland) Setinsek.

Ron was a proud graduate of Middletown High School, Class of 1966, and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 32½ years of hard work and commitment to Bethlehem Steel.

A man of faith, Ron and his wife, Elaine, were former members of Melrose Gardens Grace Brethren Church in Harrisburg.

Ron was a true outdoorsman at heart. He found peace and joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and boating, and especially cherished time spent at Pinchot Park, a place he loved dearly. One of his great passions was flying—Ron held a private pilot’s license and delighted in taking family members up in his plane.

A lifelong, die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Ron religiously watched every game throughout the fall and winter months. Above all else, he deeply loved his family and took immense pride in watching them grow.

Surviving Ron is his wife of 55 years, Elaine (Yenfer) Setinsek; children, Melanie Kurtz (John), Ron Setinsek Jr. (Sallie), Jennifer Stewart, Amy Green (Kevin Green), and Aaron Setinsek; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Henry Setinsek and Darlene Canoles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Simone; and a son-in-law, Tony Stewart.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the future at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Ron’s name to the American Heart Association.
