Emblem

Samantha Lynn Fields, 38, of Marysville, was taken from this world all too soon on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Sam grew up in Wormleysburg, attending schools in the West Shore School District before transferring to Susquenita High School, where she finished her public education. She later pursued coursework at the University of Phoenix and Southern New Hampshire University, earning her associate degree. She quickly put it to use as an insurance processor with Aetna, before moving on to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, where she became secretary to the district manager.

Above all, Sam’s greatest role was being a mother. She gave of herself fully—always putting others first, whether it was her own children or anyone who needed care. She was deeply involved in Ciara’s cheerleading and Logan’s school activities, never missing an opportunity to be present in their lives.

Her joy shone through in the little things, whether shuffling on roller skates at the Olympic Skating Center, dancing through the house with laughter, or breaking into song when a Disney tune was stuck in her head. She carried a bubbly spirit, wore her heart on her sleeve, and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

Sam had a lifelong love for animals, especially Chesapeake Bay retrievers, and dreamed of one day opening a rescue with her daughter Ciara. She cherished the outdoors, finding peace in the mountains and sharing hunting trips with those she loved. She appreciated the beauty of flowers—and her favorites, stargazer lilies, white roses with baby-blue tips and baby’s breath, reflected her bright and gentle nature. Her presence will be missed by so many who loved her.

Surviving Samantha are her children, Ciara Nicole Schreffler and Logan Stewart Schreffler; the father of her children, Dustin Stewart Schreffler; parents, Patrick and Polly (Gower) Fields; sister, Alie Kennedy and husband Lance, niece Lola and nephew Warren; her Memaw, Marlene Schreffler; her Uncle Mikey and Aunt Kimmy Fields; cousins, Ben Fields and Tye Cline (Sam, Tye, and Ben were known as the 3 amigos); and a large extended family of many aunts uncles and cousins. Sam was Preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, and one Uncle.

A public viewing will take place from 1-3 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025 at 4 PM at the Whitetail Lodge, 30 Brubeck Circle, Marysville, PA 17053. Please continue to monitor Sam’s obituary page for updated information. A memorial skate, with proceeds going directly to her family, will be held from 6:30-8:30 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Olympic Skating Center, 60 E Shady Lane, Enola, PA 17025.
