Scott M. Fortenbaugh, age 48, of Etters, PA, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Scott, born on November 1, 1977, in Harrisburg, PA, was more than just a devoted husband and father; he was a craftsman whose exceptional talent in woodworking left a lasting mark throughout Central Pennsylvania. His work can be admired in notable projects such as the Butterfly Atrium at Hershey Gardens, Hershey Park, Hershey Antique Auto Museum, and West Shore Theatre.
Scott embraced life’s adventures with joy and enthusiasm. An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent cherished moments outdoors, and he dedicated himself to coaching his daughters’ youth sports teams, imparting valuable lessons of teamwork and perseverance. He is remembered for his warm spirit and the laughter he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky (Jacobs) Fortenbaugh, their two daughters, Natalie and Ashley Fortenbaugh, parents, Dr. Richard and Patricia (Schroll) Fortenbaugh, his brothers, Brian Fortenbaugh of Middletown and Andrew Fortenbaugh (Natalie) of Camp Hill. Scott also leaves behind cherished niece Lylah and nephew Wyatt, who will always carry his love in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Scott’s life. A viewing will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home located in New Cumberland. The funeral service will commence on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the same location, followed by his burial at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
Friends and family are encouraged to wear a funny t-shirt to the viewings/services to honor Scott as he was known for his humor and funny shirts.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ to honor Scott’s legacy of kindness and compassion. Join us as we remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who filled our lives with love, laughter, and countless memories.
