Shannon T. Celesnik

July 8, 1979 — June 7, 2025

Mechanicsburg, PA

Shannon T. Celesnik, 45, of Silver Spring Twp., transitioned to eternal life on June 7, 2025.

A native of New Cumberland, PA, Shannon was born on July 8, 1979, to Patricia A. Moran and Garth M. Hess at Harrisburg Hospital. Shannon was a 2002 graduate of American University, where she majored in accounting on her way to becoming a Certified Public Accountant.

After graduation, Shannon practiced public accounting before transitioning to private accounting later in her career.

A parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of St. Theresa’s Parish in New Cumberland, PA, Shannon was a strong Catholic woman and participated in various extracurricular Church activities.

With Irish roots and a bloodline tracing back to the American Revolution, Shannon leveraged her heritage and honored her ancestral legacy of “fighting the good fight.” Shannon was well known for her advocacy of children, especially the underrepresented. Her unending support and active participation gained her widespread respect, especially within the Cumberland Valley School District, where she was a regular at School Board meetings.

Despite her tireless dedication to her advocacy efforts, Shannon always made time for her friends and family, all of whom will miss her dearly. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that same legacy Shannon carried on will continue through her own family, most notably her devoted husband, Ryan, and beloved children, Madison and Cooper.

In addition to her dear husband, children, and parents, Patricia “Patty” Moran, of New Cumberland, PA, and Garth Hess, Sr., of Seminole, FL, Shannon is survived by her brother, Kelly Moran, of Hershey, PA; half-brothers, Garth Hess, Jr., of Harrisburg, PA, and Kevin Hess of Camp Hill, PA; and a myriad of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shannon is predeceased by her “Pap” and “Gram”, James, W. Moran, Sr., and Violet R. Moran, both of Camp Hill, and her uncle, James W. Moran, Jr., of Mechanicsburg.

Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, at Parthemore Funeral Home in New Cumberland. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 16, with burial to immediately follow at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to Rowe’s Research Runners.
