The Rev. Dr. Jay Wesley House

The Rev. Dr. Jay Wesley House, 91, of Bethany Village Retirement Community, died Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Village.

He was a retired United Methodist minister. Jay earned degrees from Lycoming College, Drew Theological Seminary and United Theological Seminary. Over 40 years of ministry, he served churches throughout the Central Pennsylvania area as well as serving on staff other former Central Pennsylvania Conference. Jay enjoyed painting, fishing and lively discussions with his colleagues.

He was born September 7, 1931, in Williamsport to the late Charles W. House and Elma (O’Brien) Myers. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daryl W. House.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Lamphier) House; daughter, Christie R. House (Donald Reasoner) of Harrisburg; sons, the Rev. James C. House (Angela) of Beach Lake, PA, and Scott E. House of Seattle, WA; and granddaughters, Kimberlin, Rebekah, Jezika (Richard) and Hannah.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Mt. Olivet United 

Methodist Church, 5000 Simpson Ferry Rd., Mechanicsburg. Private interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
