Verda Shelley Bordner

March 9, 1923 — January 26, 2015

Sunrise March 9, 1923, Sunset January 26, 2015.
Verda started her life as Verda E. Heckman. Verda was the youngest of three sisters and one brother who have all preceded her in death.
Mom married the love of her life, Joe Shelley, who passed on in 1978.
They had four children and started them out in life by telling them that they would do WELL in anything they did. What a beautiful gift!!
Survived by Janet D'Angelo (Mike), Donna Bahoric (John), Scott (Deb), and Harold Dusick. Verda was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Dusick.
After retiring from the Commonwealth of Pa., Mom married Paul Bordner, who passed in 1995.
Mom was Grammie to seven grandchildren, Michael D’Angelo (Tina), Tony D'Angelo (Chris) , Matt Bahoric (Kate), Andrea Bahoric (Dan March), Megan Dapp (Jeff), Doug Shelley, Mark Dusick (Randi) and six great grandchildren, Sophia, Alec and Anthony D'Angelo, Libby Bahoric, Chase and Brinley Dapp and Bryany Dusick. They all adored her and as one grandson said, "For without our grandparents, we would not be possible" and may she rest peacefully knowing that she has done her life's work and that her legacy lives on.
She was a member and volunteered at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, as well as volunteering at Our Daily Bread Food Bank and at Bethany Village.
Mom was a resident of Bethany Village for the last ten years and that's where her sun set.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pa., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.
