Wayne Edward Noss, 74 of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday December 2, 2012 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center after a long battle of Leukemia. His children were at his bedside. He was born on September 19, 1938 in Mechanicsburg, PA to Archie and Sara (Kapp) Noss. Wayne started employment initially with Irwins Dairy as a milkman; however, he retired from IBM as a computer operator. A 1956 graduate of Mechanicsburg high school, he was a member of Eberlys Mill Church of God, where he served as an elder and an active servant for many years. He most recently worshiped and served the lord at Christian Life Assembly (CLA).
Most of Waynes life was spent as a devoted husband, dedicated father, loving grandfather and great-grand father. He was one of five children and the father of five children. Wayne loved sports; he enjoyed watching his sons wrestle, was active in booster clubs, and coached New Cumberland Little League. His greatest joy in life was his family and having them all together, planning games and activities for their enjoyment. Getting together with old friends was extremely important to him. He enjoyed planning reunions and get together to enjoy a fellowship of dear friends. The Mountain Cabin in Juniata County he built with his father and brothers was where he was happiest especially if there was a festival in town. Good food, family, and the beauty of the outdoors were a trifecta for him.
He was predeceased by his wife Donna Marie Noss (Cohick) of 54 years. Survived by his two daughters, Kathleen Mulvey and her husband Bruce of Boiling Springs and Sallie Callahan and her husband Joe of Strathmere, NJ. Three sons, Tim Noss of Mechanicsburg, Don Noss and his wife Carla of Etters, and Wayne Jr. Skip and his wife Julie of Mechanicsburg. Ten grandchildren; Chris Mulvey, Matt Noss, Amanda Mulvey, Brittney Merrill, Joshua Winburn, Jessica Winburn, Ethan Noss, Lauren, Luke, and Leah Noss. Three step grand-children Andy, Ashley, and Anthony Romanowski and three great-grandchildren Cayden, Christian, and Brynn Merrill. Two Sisters, Sara Sanders and Mary Lantzy, and two brothers Archie and Larry Noss (predeceased), and his companion Virginia Maidl of Middletown.
Visitation will be held Thursday December 6, 2012 at 10:00am followed by the funeral service at 11am at The Christian Life Assembly of Camp Hill, PA, followed by a private internment at Rolling Green Cemetery at the familys convenience.
