William S. Reed Jr.

William S. Reed Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born on July 13, 1948, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Ella (Collins) Reed and William S. Reed Sr. He spent his life dedicated to his family, his country, and his community. 

A proud Air Force Vietnam Veteran and retired National Guard member, William demonstrated steady commitment and service to his nation. He later found purpose in his role as a Correctional Officer at Camp Hill State Prison, where he worked diligently until his retirement. William was an avid hunter and a devoted enthusiast of the Civil War, often sharing his passion for history with family and friends. He treasured the great outdoors and found joy riding his motorcycle, embodying the spirit of adventure throughout his life. He also had a deep love for reading, frequently engaging himself in a good book. A passionate supporter of Notre Dame football, William's loyalty to his team was nothing short of inspiring. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Monica (Mickolick) Reed; his children, Todd (Kristin Myers) Reed and Shannon (Greg) Rogers; and his cherished grandchildren, Charlotte and Sawyer. William is also remembered fondly by his sister, Michele (Gary) Siplivy; his brother, Leo (Connie) Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. 

A public viewing will take place on April 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc, 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland PA, 17070. William's life will be honored with a burial service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on April 7, 2026, at 1:30 PM. All are welcome to join and remember a life well lived. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. 

William will be deeply missed but always remembered for his humility, warmth, and dedication to those he loved. May he rest in peace.
