Gibby Parthemore, Third Generation Funeral Director, Named Supervisor

Gilbert A. “Gibby” Parthemore has been named Supervisor of Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Gibby is a third-generation funeral director. As supervisor, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the funeral home operation.

Born and raised in New Cumberland, he is a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School. He earned dual degrees in Business Administration and Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh. After college, he pursued a degree in Mortuary Science, graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

Growing up around the family funeral business, founded by his “Pap,” Gil Parthemore, he gained an understanding of the importance of serving others and is proud to be a part of carrying on the “family tradition of caring.” He began working part-time for the funeral home while in high school and joined the staff full-time in 2015 while earning his Mortuary Science degree.  He  then completed the required one year internship before becoming a licensed funeral director in 2018.

“Gibby brings a unique blend of talents to Parthemore Funeral Home,” said Steve Parthemore. “He’s compassionate and really connects with people, but is just as adept at the business and technical aspects of running a funeral home. With Gibby as Supervisor, we’re confident that our funeral home will continue to be a vital part of the community.”

Gibby serves on the New Cumberland Borough council. He is also an active member of the Harrisburg Young Professionals and the New Cumberland Business & Professional Group.

In his spare time, Gibby likes to go on adventures with Tank, the funeral home’s Canine Comfort Giver. He also enjoys going to the gym to clear his mind and spending time with his girlfriend and family.
